COVID-19 Update 13
Signs are hopeful that the pandemic is slowing down. Maryland’s statistics continue to trend in the right direction. For now, GHS is continuing our outdoor-only policy under our current guidelines. However, we are closely monitoring the situation, and we hope that in the next week or two, we will be able to start taking a limited number of indoor jobs with very strict protocols, giving priority to clients on our waitlist.
COVID-19 Update 12
GHS is continuing our outdoor-only policy under our current guidelines. You can still contact us to be put on our waitlist for indoor work, and we will give you priority when we reopen again. Please be assured that we continue to closely monitor state and county statistics. We are hopeful that the vaccine rollout will allow us to return to limited indoor work in mid to late February, but that will depend on statistics at that time.
COVID-19 Update 11
Today, Maryland’s COVID-19 positivity rate went above 5%. Therefore, following WHO guidelines, GHS is no longer taking on new indoor jobs. We are open only for outdoor jobs and jobs in entirely vacant buildings, and for these jobs, we will continue to follow our previous guidelines. You can still contact us to be put on our waitlist for indoor work, and we will give you priority when we reopen again.
COVID-19 Update 10
As cases continue to rise, GHS is continuing to take all standard precautions of hand washing, social distancing, and wearing masks. At each job site, we are putting up plastic sheets and opening any windows or doors in the work area to make sure it is properly ventilated.
Due to increased risk from travel and family gatherings, we are planning to close the week after Thanksgiving and the week after Christmas.
COVID-19 Update 9
As we get into flu season, we want to reiterate that GHS is continuing to follow all our COVID-19 guidelines. We ask that you also remain vigilant and continue to follow our guidelines for our clients.
COVID-19 Update 8
Over the last months, both Maryland and Anne Arundel County have seen downward trends in cases, hospitalizations, deaths, and positivity rates. Based on these encouraging signs, GHS has decided to start taking on some inside jobs starting July 1. To facilitate this transition, GHS has taken the Maryland Strong Back to Business Pledge and initiated new policies to protect the health of our employees and clients.
Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist
Although we have been limiting the jobs we are currently taking on, Gregg Home Services has not been on vacation. Gregg has taken advantage of the extra time to take online classes and become certified as an Aging-in-Place Specialist.
A Cry for Justice
While the public health crisis of COVID-19 is new and visible, the last week has reminded America of another public health crisis that is 400 years old: racism. Despite America’s long history of racism, from slavery to segregation to the prison-industrial complex, this is a topic that America has too long shied away from addressing, consigning the suffering of our black brothers and sisters to the silence of the margins. Yet this week, these brothers and sisters have lifted up their voices and led the world in crying for justice.
Therefore, we at Gregg Home Services humbly add our voice to this cry.
COVID-19 Update 7
This week, both the State of Maryland and Anne Arundel County have moved into Phase 2 of their reopening plans, allowing many more non-essential businesses to reopen. However, Gregg Home Services has decided not to make any changes to our current policy.
COVID-19 Update 6
This is just a brief update to confirm that we are continuing to follow our previously outlined policies. We have no new news to share at this time, but we are continuing to monitor and reevaluate the situation each week.
